We host speakers from around the country to share their experiences and learnings. Field trips to A&E offices and interaction with the Grand Rapids chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) offer students a glimpse into the work lives and concerns of practicing architects and designers. Visits to corporations and facilities, to meet with practicing facility managers, expose students to the varied work opportunities within the facility management profession. Collaboration with the West Michigan IFMA chapter provides ample opportunities for students to network with FM professionals. The Place Matters program is a lecture and film series that runs every semester. The final week of each semester is Crit Week, a busy time when students present their work to visiting lecturers, faculty and students.
