Anthony Amato earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture and Sustainability in 2013. “Ferris offered a curriculum that balanced the technical aspects of the built environment with an approach to design and the theories behind it.” The expertise Anthony gained in college led to a position as a layout designer for Meijer, Inc. Anthony develops layouts for new stores, layouts for stores being remodeled, and Meijer’s urban format concept.
One of the projects Anthony is most proud of during his years at Ferris was the bicycling and pedestrian master plan developed by the Small Town Studio for the city of Big Rapids. The group presented the plan to the city’s Planning Commission, which they adopted as a reference point for future planning.
