The Architecture and Sustainability and Facility Management programs’ reputations for developing high-caliber graduates has resulted in a nearly 100% placement rate. Your future employers know you have been well prepared for professional life and that you will make valuable contributions to the organizations that are in your future.
Mark Yager graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Facility Management. He now works for Domino Pizza as Program Leader for International Supply Chain Development at its corporate headquarters in Ann Arbor, MI.
Mark is charged with the development of supply chain centers in Domino Pizza’s 80-plus markets, and managing multiple projects on a global basis is Mark’s daily activity. “Some of the countries in which I am leading projects include Panama, Mexico, India, Malaysia, China, Oman, Portugal, and Italy.”
The most valuable lesson Mark learned at Ferris was that it is impossible to be an expert in every facet of facility management upon graduating. “The FM program provided me with a solid foundation of competencies to build on during my career. I have made positive contributions in my work by leveraging my strengths while further developing additional competencies over time.”
A part of the solid foundation Mark talks about is the exposure Ferris students are given to real-world experiences and practicing professionals. Mark’s favorite memory of his time at Ferris was attending IFMA’s World Workplace with classmates and faculty. “Having the opportunity to network and build relationships with facility management professionals from around the world has been invaluable to my career development.”
It was during Mark’s first years at Ferris studying in the architecture program that he was exposed to the field of facility management. “I became aware of the program’s stellar reputation for career opportunities, employability, and accreditation. Upon successful completion of my associate’s degree, I enrolled in the facility management program at Ferris and credit my experiences there for where I am today.
