The Architecture and Sustainability and Facility Management programs’ reputations for developing high-caliber graduates has resulted in a nearly 100% placement rate. Your future employers know you have been well prepared for professional life and that you will make valuable contributions to the organizations that are in your future.
Greg Cole earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Facility Management in 2010. The knowledge Greg gained in the AAS and BS programs led to a position as the Plant Operations Supervisor at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, MI. Greg’s duties include creating and updating system-wide facility management policies and procedures, and standardizing the environment and life safety throughout the health system portfolio. Currently he is managing an eight-phase renovation project of the main kitchen at the Spectrum Health Medical Center, and managing the design and construction of a burn unit for pediatric patients in the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
“The most valuable thing I learned in school is that “Communication is key. Whether it’s at your job or in your personal life, you need to know your audience and the correct medium to deliver the right message.”
Among Greg’s reasons for selecting Ferris was its reputation for professors who have practiced in the field in which they are teaching in; thereby providing students with hands-on learning experiences. “I knew Ferris would provide me with the skill-set necessary to be sought-after in the job market.”
“My favorite memory of Ferris happened on the first day of class. As a new student, I was unsure of what to expect of my first class in college. My architecture professor came into the classroom with an overwhelming amount of excitement and enthusiasm. She set the stage for the rest of my time at Ferris.”
