The Architecture and Sustainability and Facility Management programs’ reputations for developing high-caliber graduates has resulted in a nearly 100% placement rate. Your future employers know you have been well prepared for professional life and that you will make valuable contributions to the organizations that are in your future.
Kayla Gottschalk practices what she learned at Ferris in her role as a Project Manager in the Global Real Estate and Facilities group with global contract furnishings manufacturer Steelcase. “I work on facility projects at our global headquarters buildings, refresh projects at our showrooms, and large renovations at offices or showrooms globally. Other projects include creating/developing process improvement and team standard documentations.” Prior to joining Steelcase, Kayla was a Project Manager within the Real Estate and Facilities Team at Haworth, Inc.
Among Kayla’s reasons for selecting Ferris was its reputation for hands-on, technical education practices. Kayla feels that Ferris prepared her for working with a broad range of cross-functional teams and individuals. “Working with diverse people on class projects was the most valuable thing I learned and experienced at Ferris.”
But Kayla also cherishes many of the non-academic moments at Ferris. “My favorite memories from Ferris were my daily 10 to 15 minute walks to campus and class. Although walking in the snow wasn’t ideal, it was still pleasant to walk the campus and see many other students doing the same.”
